Feeling whole while broken

The art of Kinsugi is very impressive.

Repairing broken things like plates and bowls with gold to highlight the cracks and breaks rather than hide them.

When you go through so much of your life defining your self worth and purpose by others, you don't really know how to give it to yourself when you really need it, and trust me you REALLY will need it.

This has been a journey for me, and has me realizing that a lot of the things I tried to be involved in were really just attempts that people might like me, because of what I can do.

Making a self-insert character and treating them badly or hoping people latch onto them and getting depressed when people find them boring and not good feels SO PERSONAL because its like putting a snapshot of yourself and people calling it garbage.

The journey to self acceptance is hard because how can we accept ourselves when it feels like no one will accept us when we put ourselves out there?

We desire to be seen, to hear "I see you" but here's a shocker, so does everyone else.

What is really missing is connection and a build up of ourselves to be the person we want to be.

Who says that you need to use gold to fill the cracks in your bowl?

There is no one way to do it, and this bowl isn't for them, it's for you. Make the bowl you have wanted to see and then, keep it to yourself if you think no one else will enjoy it. Or eat every meal out of it and make everyone jealous of your cool bowl made just for you.
